I came across Layered Networks after searching for a web host through the Whirlpool forum and after reading a few threads decided Layered Networks was exactly the host that I was seeking. After receiving the welcome and sign up email my domain was pointing towards their nameservers in seconds and I was impressed as I had never done that before.
I had always been led to believe that Australian hosting was best in terms of speed; however, have found no difference in the speed of the site on my now US hosting compared to that of previous Australian hosting.
I rate the support at 100%, especially as during my web-building had asked and received detailed replies to tickets within minutes at 3am and they are truly and readily available for support 24/7 as I have found.
With my website now having taken off, and become global with hits from all countries; again, I feel US hosting is the best for myself and my audience and with Layered Networks being Australian the support and sales is at home.
I am sure as I have found that you wont be dissapointed with their services, support or great work ethic and honesty.

Customer Service- Best I've ever experienced. Some replies from email came back within 10 mins.
Price- The prices are pretty good. Around $3 a month for all the features I get are exceptional.
Speed- Servers based in California (I think) but pretty fast. Yet to do some tests.

Signed up 2 days ago and transferred one of my websites over to them (looking good so far, may move the rest over sometime in the future).
Support/Sales so far have been excellent - none of the generic script responses some other hosts give. It's supposed to be 24/7, but have not needed to try that out yet, though I have emailed at morning and afternoon Saturday, at ungodly hours of the morning on Sunday, and late at night Monday. Most ticket responses have been answered within 20 minutes, longest was a bit over an hour.
Server I'm on is in LA, 190ms latency from Sydney. (Australian based I think?) Most people will be 10-15ms less though, as I've set my ADSL2+ profile to max speed which sacrifices latency for throughput. No idea what the server is capable of, but I could max out my connection and download at 1.5MBytes/sec.
Pricing is good, it just got lowered recently so the basic plan is now $3.95USD for 4GB disk and 80GB transfer. Domains are also reasonable at the ~9 mark.
Would I transfer my other sites to them? Probably
Recommend to others? Yes
Value for money? Good
Speed? A lot better than other hosts I've tried anyway...
Reliability? Not long enough to know yet.

I admit was a little suspicious as first but for the money thought it worth a shot so did a trial with one domain and was impressed. Have now moved all my domains over and am still happy. One thing to note is you pay a year in advance, currently about AU$50 odd. If only they'd get a 'commission' programme going I could maybe get a kickback!

I have also taken a plunge with Layered networks, set up new domain and plan was straight forward and quick. I am currently hosting coppermine we album, uploading files to server based in LA is nice and quick very happy so far. I think i might be bringing my other domains that are hosted on servage very shortly as well.

Ah well, if my current host doesn't get their act together quick fast, and I wasn't insanely busy at the moment, i'd be moving another website over to layered networks...
